    That’s a great question! We can definitely use grades and other information we have on the student as measures of academic performance. I would just ensure that you have clear indication of how the student is performing in all of the academic areas (basic reading skills, reading fluency, reading comprehension, math calculation, math reasoning, written expression, listening comprehension, oral expression). Depending on how specific the report cards are, you may need more information. If you feel you have clear information in all of those areas, then maybe your academic measure is just a summary of all of the information you have along with parent and teacher input. You do not always have to use standardized measures in your assessment. Hope this helps.
