Hello! Yes, I have seen that article (and a few others). Not everyone in our field agrees on the correct methodology for SLD identification. There is still much research that needs to be done for all three methodologies that IDEA allows us to use. If you haven’t listened to Dr. Alfonso speak about the state of SLD, I believe he was on the School Psyched! podcast. I know I just heard his perspective at the CASP Fall Convention. There is no one perfect method to look at SLD that exists right now.
